Down at the Base.

Hi! Thank God for laptops and wifi. I'm sitting here hanging out with Adam and Marc down in their room. Adam is playing PS2 and Marc is online on Adam's laptop. Needless to say BSU is pretty dead right now, with a lot of people heading home for the long weekend. So there's not much to do. So we've been hanging out all day. We have to go eat before 7:30 though because that's when everything closes ha. Great huh? Plus Sunday and this Monday the buses aren't running haha, so tommorrow I'll probably do a lot of homework, well not really a lot just mostly reading and studying a bit, and catch up more on my Hulu vids.

Gossip Girl Monday! haha yes! I've looked it up and we have two CW's on our cable here in Muncie. Pretty stoked about that. Then Tuesday it's back to classes...uh yay...heh.

Yeah I'm pretty freakin' bored right now if you couldn't tell. This floor is alive and kicking I'll give you that, all these guys are playing video games quite loudly...or watching sports and cheering quite loudly. Our floor upstairs is dead...I've barely seen anyone up there.

We went and saw Iron Man last night for free...good movie. Sitting on the ground can be annoying though. Tonight we'll probably go to Late Night just to have something to do. Ok well I'm going to play a game or something.

Give Me Just One Inch I Swear That's All I Need....

I'm tired...and sore...as in my right arm has been bothering me...yay...heh. It's too early in the year for this shit to be acting up. Gah...I had to break out the Icy Hot last night. I might come back from class and go eat then take some asprin. Yeah it's that annoying.

I went to this Cru thing the other night with my roommate and Marc, I liked it for the most part it just got me thinking about things I hadn't thought about since I'd gotten here. Which have been kind of eating at me at random moments throughout the day.

I needed my Josherz talk last night even it was just about school and such...ha if you read this...you're more of a brother than anything. So don't get the wrong idea here. Luckily he was online last night and we talked. I also sent Jake a message too, to see how he and Matt and everybody else from our amazing Lunch/Math group is doing.

Only 4 classes today seperate me from a nice 3 day weekend. I'm pretty happy about that, hopefully I'll be able to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Cardboard Robot Video Numero Uno.

Here's the first of many videos from our Robot Wars the other night. My roommate has a better one and this guy on one of the lower floors is editing a whole lot of footage he shot as well...good times.

Quick Post Before Class

So I have class at 9 and I'm up and ready to go even had breakfast....whoo go me.

Anyways this past weekend and start of the week have been pretty fun. Even though classes have started and homework was assigned the first day blah. But other than that, we've still managed to cram a whole lotta fun in.

Yesterday we ventured to Walmart on the MITs. We took our "Green" bags, inside joke...sorry. Anyways as we were coming back we see Derek, Jon, and a slew of other guys building robots out of boxes. He asks us to join so we go upstairs put our stuff away, and grab a couple of boxes out of our closet. Orginally we were just down there to help Jon aka "The Hotness" out. But Dan talked me into building one haha so I was "The Galaxy Destroyer". At 8 we all treked down to the Atrium infront of the fountain and had a "Battle Royale" as Derek called it. It lasted like three minutes and we heard sirens, so Derek; who was the mastermind behind all of this, yelled, "Run! It's the cops!" So we all pick up fallen pieces of cardboard and start quickly walking back to our dorm. After some minor scrapes and bruises it was a good time. We missed all the dinner places again though so we just had sandwhiches, the night before we had a PBJ party up in our room.

The only downside to college is lack of sleep...I'm seriously considering coming back from my Astro class this afternoon and taking an hour nap or something like that. I mean I'm not going to fall over or anything but a nap sure sounds good. Ah well I have to finish getting ready before class....oh yeah Andrea is going home this weekend to get her cord and then we'll have pics of the Robot Battles haha.

Yawning is Contagious.

My Mom sent me an email today, containing this;

This was my room, I've been gone like two days and my brother has already taken over. Whaaaa!! Well all I have to say is he can't watch TV or play video games because I took the powerstrip that stuff was connected to out and brought it to school with me. He can't get on my computer because I put a password on it...and he best not mess with my CDs.

Anyways the past couple of days have been fun here at school. I've met some more awesome people. I've seen a ton of people from the Fort too. We went out a lot today, I even got sun burnt a little bit. I definately walked the from the castle to our dorm complex in 15 minutes so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine getting to my classes as long as I get to the correct rooms.

Tonight we went and saw a Hypnotist, it was super funny and we had a lot of fun. Tommorrow there's a whole bunch of stuff going on too. Picnics, games, activity fair, and late night. So won't be online much at all this weekend except for maybe awhile in the morning. Because Sunday we have a lot of mandatory freshmen stuff to do. I'm definately going to The Price is Right Sunday night though...and I'm definately getting into it even if I don't make it onstage haha.

Oh, did I mention I got called up onstage during our college road trip assembly thing and won a free flash drive? Hey it's better than nothing! The only bad part is that at this time of night the internet is super slow because so many people are on. I'm luck if I have enough juice to IM half the time...I'm impatient when comes to waiting for pages to load...I'm used to my broadband at home....not sharing wi-fi with a bunch of people.

Alright well....have fun this weekend everybody!

I'm Officially Moved In.

Well, I'm here in my dorm roomie with my amazing roomie, we're just killing some time before we head downstairs to play icebreakers with some other people.

I'm tired, it's been a long hot day. I could probably definately fall asleep right now, especially considering pretty much all I've eaten today is a piece of coffee cake and a sandwhich oh and Powerade. :)

But the important things are working like cable TV and internet! Oh and Krystel is moving in across the hall from me, this year is probably going to be crazy fun!

I'm just really glad I'm out of the Fort, no offense to you Ivy-Techers or IPFWers but I don't think I could handle the Fort for another school year. Anyways...nothing much else to say aside from I'M HERE!!!!! :)

Today Is The Day.

I'm up early, couldn't sleep. Waiting for the Dad to take the brother to school so I can get in the shower. The brother will be in 7th grade and he doesn't really want to go back haha.

Me, I'm showering and then probably coming to shut this computer off for a long time. We'll load up the car and then head South. Should be in Muncie by 1ish, although my Dad is planning on taking back roads the whole way down so it'll probably take wayyy longer than an hour to get down there eck.

Ah well I'm still excited.

This is my last post from the Fort for awhile...next time I post, I'll be at BSU officially. Wish me luck kids!

And They Let Me Into College?

I feel like a complete idiot right now. After having this blog for two years now, I've just now figured out how to properly use titles haha. I knew it was possible but I was completely lost as how to use them. Today I finally thought, "Hmm...maybe I should google it...", 2 seconds later I found my answer and now I feel like an idiot haha.

So I've gone through all my posts up through July 2008 and titled them the right way. I don't have the time or energy to go back through 350 posts and title them correctly. I'll just promise to title them correctly from now on for those of you who subscribe by feed, you can judge me by my titles now ahaha.

Aside from this minor revelation, I spent the day doing my laundry so I could finish packing. All that's left to do is dust off the TV and find the remote, and pack a few more pairs of socks or something lame like that. And then stow away some of my things in my room so the brother and the parents don't get at them. Like the story....oh how I'm going to miss that. That will be the reason I'll want to come home for break haha. But other than that I think I'm ready. Even though I'm completely worn out right now just from packing and what not.

I just thought I'd update real quick to show that I'm not a complete idiot blogger on here anymore.

Goonies Never Say Die

As I was waiting for my turn in the bathroom this morning, I was doing my usual checking the email and facebook ect. While I was reading everybody's facebook status updates a quote from The Goonies ran through my head;

"Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best stuff for us.But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket."

Why'd this quote pop into my head? Think about it, many of my friends and myself included are leaving our hometowns for the very first time in our lives to go to school. Our parents know it's the right thing for us to go to school....but some of us are understandably nervous and are having second thoughts about this whole process. We could just give up and say screw it Mom, sign me up for Ivy Tech this fall or whatever, but if we do that we essentially give up "our time" Our time to live among our peers without nearly as much supervision from our parents. Our chance to have these experiences...and to thrive. But that also comes with the reality that if you screw up....it's all over.

I know that we're all nervous to some extent, just remember that you're not alone and practically everybody is in the same boat as you. Once we get over this first hurdle of moving in and starting classes, I'm sure we'll all be fine. And if we're not...come personally beat me up or something haha. Goonies Never Say Die...and we should never give up.

I Guess Everybody and Everythinng Are Changing

So new blogger dashboard layout, whoa. Plus new facebook layout that I'm not really into all that much, the only aspect that facebook added that I like is the IM....niftyness. Except Tom has informed me that when I do my tabbed multi-tasking browsing and switch tabs it says I've logged off....but aside from that pretty nifty. Plus I hear APnet is also going to be revamped in the near future. I suppose change and new innovative features and new looks are always a good thing.

I behaved today when we went to Kohls, I saw some sweaters I wanted, luckily I didn't have any money on me...haha I thought about asking my mom to pay for them out of some of my grad money but I restrained myself. Even when I saw the I Love Chuck Bass shirt, I figured it'd make me look very...umm...middle schooly. haha. Now if it was an I Love Dan Humphrey shirt I would've bought it...because on the show he's wayyy better looking in my opinion than Chuck. "Ugh, Damn that Mother Chucker..." haha previews....I seriously better be able to find somewhere online to watch GG when it comes on in a couple of weeks.

I'm trying to save my money for unforseen expenses that I can't purchase at Walmart, my mom is getting me a giftcard that she can reload from home...haha. Like you know....entertainment...and....I dunno software, or...clothes when I shrink them all in the wash because most of my clothes haven't been dried in a dryer in ages. Oh and Kohls had these awesome button down quarter length/long sleeve umm...I want to say flannel but that's not what they're made out of...but you know what I mean? Yeah...I need a job, but I've been saying that for the past four years...I've stuck to focusing on being a student, which I think I should continue to do atleast through this first semester.

Just downloaded a Ben Kweller album after hearing a song by him on my lastfm reccomendations radio...good stuff. I'm also trying to find I'm Like A Virgin Losing a Child by Manchester Orchestra, anybody want to help me out? This torrent is getting me nowhere...no seeders, and albumhunt doesn't have it. I'm loading up on music, because the next chance I'll get to download will probably be Thanksgiving break. Maybe....yikes I'm taking this powerstrip with me....oh man...this is not good. Ah, I just realized that. Shoot. I really don't want to use Ruckus....maybe I'll breakdown and buy itunes cards...heh. I really don't want to take the chance of getting caught using the sites I use to download and getting expelled over something like that. My parents would kill me...probably literally.

Alright well I've wasted entirely too much time on the computer yet again, so tis all for me tonight.

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

I couldn't sleep, I spent most of the night tossing and turning. I don't know why, I wasn't really stressing about anything, probably because I've been extremely lazy this week, today I'll have to get out and do something to burn off some energy, that is if it doesn't rain. That coupled with the fact that I'm being eaten alive by misquitoes...they seem to favor the right side of my body over the left haha, I have 6 bites on my right shoulder alone and lucky me has two on the right side of my face, luckily one is hidden by my bangs...but the other isn't grr.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my time this morning, I haven't decided yet, and ER doesn't come on until 10 if I decide to watch that. I did play around with my hair a bit this morning, it's still long enough to pull back for my bad hair days! Which I was definately having one today. Anyways I suppose I should work on those 15 or so questions about Field Notes From a Catastrophe...

So it still hasn't fully sunk in that I'm leaving in less than a week now. I'm nervous about my classes, I've never been the best note taker because I've never had to be. Plus me studying...yeah I'm definately going to have to force myself to study, of course I won't have the story with me to work on, so that'll help. Just thousands of other kids my age wanting to do stuff, ha. But overall you could say I'm pretty excited, but is it wrong of being scared about fitting in? I have this fear that people will instantly judge me...and be like screw you or something, I'm sure that's a kind of stupid fear to have since most of the people there are looking to make new friends, but still....the highly self-concious part of me is going....nobody will like you. I guess we'll just have to wait to see what happens.

9 Days Left

Late last night and into the early morning I talked to Tom. We talked mostly about his relationships or lack of relationships with girls. And a once mutual friend of ours that we've pretty much given up on. I hate to see this person throwing their life away already. After all it's only just begun...but ultimately it's their choice to do what they do and push people away from them. All I know is that I can't go down that road again with someone, not so soon. I've finally moved on...and I'm not about to go through it all again with someone else. Plus I leave for school in like 9 days. So I'm not about to get myself in some drama here and then just leave.

Anyways while I was eating my Brunch haha, you know when I eat my breakfast food for lunch, cheerios and some amazing cinnamon raisin toast that we got for 79 cents, yeah tasty...I was watching the Olympics...it got me thinking about the last summer Olympics in 04'. I don't remember much about those games aside from Micheal Phelps winning a whole bunch and the Hamm brothers...oh and watching Ping Pong in World History one day haha.

This is random but last night my Dad accidentally dropped a brand new full bottle of steak sauce on my foot and now I have a huge bruise...ehhhh. Oh and my new hair is working out wonderfully maintenance wise. I love not having to do much with it. It can be a pain riding in the mini with the windows down and the sunroof open but I won't be doing that too much longer anyways.

I better go force myself to read that stupid book again....I know I said I would have it finished by Friday...but obviously that didn't happen heh. Only 70 pages to go!

Welcome to My World...

What a weekend. It's been interesting that's for sure. Friday we went to the zoo with my grandpa...where I thought we might possibly get kicked out due to his rude comments to strangers about their nosy misbehaving children, let's just say you probably shouldn't loudly say that a kid needs slapped upside the head to straighten them out. It was pretty fun though...I'll have to go back once they finish the new African part, all we saw of it was big construction vehicles and some landscaping....boo. Anyways after we dropped the brother off at friends we headed to Wally world to finish up the dorm shopping. I'm pretty sure I have everything I need now. Getting all of this shiz in the car is going to be a whole different story. My mom is convinced that it's all going to fit in the mini....yeah right. We were going to do a test packing this weekend but got busy with other things. So I'm sure it'll get done by next weekend for sure. Yes Josh there will be pictures! haha.

Saturday I pretty much hungout at home most of the day watching the olympics...listening to music....you know the usual. Oh we did venture out B-Buy to get a laptop lock. Um...cool I guess. I'd rather have the ipod touch my Dad bought himself yesterday too. Hasn't even set it up yet...eck. He has bought a case and a wall charger though haha.

Today, we all slept in...it was nice. I showered and then we took off to the grocery store...haha I love managers special baked goods. This week I picked up a loaf of tasting looking cinnamon rasin bread for 79 cents. Yumz. Anyways after shopping we headed to Penn Station for lunch...amazing sandwhiches and amazing fries that remind me of Cedar Point fries...ahh yeah. Came home and hungout for a couple of hours before we embarked on a bike ride. We rode up to the gas station and put air in the tires. Then were on our way in Miranda's addition, we got to the old people's home and whoosh I hear a pop and a blast of air hitting my leg....my front tire popped.

So we limped my bike up to Georgetown and put it on the rack by Ziffles and the coney place. I went and bought char crust while my Dad continued home to get the car. Anyways I'm in Scotts checking out the free samples...7 layer mexican dip...score haha. Anyways there's a cop walking around taking statements from all the employees there, I guess that they got robbed or something. Wasn't bad enough for them to close the store. Took the bike home and then switched to the Mini to go back to Wally World, we live between Wally World and Scotts pretty much all the time. We got a new tube for my bike and other things that we didn't orginally plan on getting. We had the most annoying cashier ever..."This watch is really heavy...I just got it today and it weighs like two pounds! Wow!" ...."Tyler like read my mind and called! How weird was that!" "Are you planning a party?" gahh just shut up and scan my shit....Why don't we have cool Wally World cashiers like Gee in Columbus? haha.

Anyways, now I'm just waiting for my Dad to put the steak on...he lit the grill like 10 minutes ago so it could be awhile. Oh...and Hulu is great...just wish they had Gossip Girl on there, because I was curious as to what channel the CW was in Muncie....they don't get the CW....what the fuck am I going to do now? I guess I'll have to watch em' online again with the sub-titles in Espanol. That's enough lameness from me today.

New Hair

We walked up to Georgetown today....did I mention the ghetto mobile started hemoraging fluids the other week? Yeah, haha so we're down to the Mini Coop which isn't technically ours. Anyways I got my hairsss cut, I'm pretty happy with it. I think I have a good length and it seems realitively easy to manage....and looks good without straightening...which is goodx1,000. Plus I got it thinned out a lot so it's not as poofy. Plus we went to the cheap place...you know Great Clips lmao. Anyways...Picturrrez.

Meet Me in the Middle...Come on lets make up a Dance...

So, some of today's issues have been resolved and I'm definately glad about that. Now I'm just in charge of flooring more specifically a rug for the room. You know they should just furnish the damn dorm rooms so it wouldn't be this much of a hassle., you know all the basics; TV, beds, fridge, microwave....carpet....it'd make things a whole lot easier. If I ever am in charge of designing dorm rooms, I'm going to suggest fully furnished dorm rooms. IPFW has those...they're like apartments and are pricey haha. Just saying though....geezies.

Now I'm just waiting for my parents to get home to update them on the latest...hmm...hopefully we can fit a rug in the mini...gah. We'll see. I'm ready for today to be over. By the way I started reading that book...it's alright. Sounds like I'll be getting sunburnt a whole lot in the future or something but ya know whatever.

Oh and the new Ludo record is pretty good, check it out...if you're at Warped they're selling it for $5. That's my shameless plug for today.

Some One Please Save Us....As College Kids...

I'm kind of stressed out right now. So pardon my venting. First off I put my laundry in the wash this morning at like 9ish. By the time it's done I look outside and dark clouds are looming. Ok...no big deal just wait for the storms to pass. They've passed but another batch is on the way, so my wet clothes are still in the washer waiting to be hung outside. Yeah our dryer sucks....plus beats spending the money on Natural Gas. Hey...gotta cut corners where you can. So if this storm doesn't move through pretty quick I'm just going to hang them inside like we do in the winter...I don't want them to start stinking.

So then there's this microwave/fridge situation with the roomie. Mostly it's about what our parents are willing to pay...well mine anyways. I hope she won't think I'm this impossible person to get along with just because I can be frugal and hold out for deals. We shall see what my mom says when I call her in a little bit.

Oh....and I still have to read the freshman connections reader...blah. A whole book about global warming....yippee. I've set goals though, 2 chapters a day, should get me finished by Friday. All of this has caused a slight headache and my stomach to be well...stressed. Not panic attack stressed but noticably stressed. I know it's all pretty much lame stuff I'm stressed about, I guess I have nothing bigger to stress about in my life and I'm actually extremely glad about that. But that being said all I really want to do is listen to music....and write. Seriously.

Tommorrow I'm going to ride my bike up to the library weather permitting and then head to Miranda's from there to let her borrow some CD's.

God, I'll be glad when this whole pre-college thing is over and all I have to focus on is school and a social life. Not that I'm getting my hopes for an extremely busy social calendar. I've never had one of those. But I do wish I could relive Thursday...I need more of those Thursdays in my life. Just that feeling of pure elation. Love it.

Just Turn Up the Soundtrack and We'll Keep Singing...OUT LOUD!

Josh got to my house yesterday just before 8 and were on our way by 8. Tom Tom got us lost in Nobelsville haha, it took us to place that looked like 4H Fairgrounds behind an Aldis(sp?) So we got directions from the guy who worked at the Goodyear place haha. We were early so it didn't really matter. Parked, we sprung for Premire parking $25 to park a car...wtf? But we avoid long lines both coming in and leaving. So I guess it was kind of worth it.

Went through security, only made us get rid of our bottle caps off one of our waterbottles...ah we had extras with us anyways. Then we were off to find the Will Call booth. Turns out the venue didn't have the tickets so were sent over to a tent where the Warped staff was giving em' out. Truth had me on their guest list which got us our tickets and we were good to go.

Then we went in and found out where everything was at and headed to the master schedule. We picked the bands we wanted to see and then just saw whoever we could in between.

Started the day off just randomly walking into 3Oh!3 at one of the Hurley stages. It was entertaing haha, I downloaded some of their stuff last night when I got home and this morning I listened to it. I can't see myself putting this record on repeat 24/7. But they were definately good live and kept the crowd moving.

Aslena was on next on the Smartpunk stage right next to the Hurley stage in the ampitheater. So we watched their set. Pretty good, I've heard some of their stuff before.

Then this Ska from Japan came on...I can't remember their name ahh. Oh well, Josh went down and definately moshed to them for a few songs before we took off so we wouldn't miss Family Force 5.

I was glad we went and saw Family Force 5. They put on a great live show and we wer moving again the whole time. I was near the front but off to the side so it wasn't so crowded. Josh caught one of their beach ball thingies haha. He wanted to get it signed but he couldn't find their tent. I told him later that I was standing right there and looking for him....but whatever.

Next we headed back to the Ampitheater to see Four Year Strong. While we were wating Katy Perry was playing...eh. I kissed a girl and I liked it....good for you. Four Year Strong played amazingly, the keyboard stand broke haha and they duct taped it back together.

We headed out for our first mainstage show of the day....Say Anything. Ohhhh Bemis. We got their a half hour early so we were about half way up. Luckily Josh and some other big dudes who were around me saved me from crowd surfers falling on my head haha. Security was getting pissed though. Some guy tried to get me to crowd surf during Say Anything but I didn't haha...Josh was like yeahhhh and did though. His first time of the day.

After Say Anything's set I pushed my way to the front as far as I could for Angels & Airwaves while Josh went off to find more water. I stood for a half hour elbow to elbow with some very sweaty people. A few who decided to smoke some pot while waiting. Some guys started singing Fuck a Dog, and Family Reunion while we waited so we all started singing along haha. By the time AVA came on I was about three people away from the barrier and smooshed up into the girl infront of me and the guy who was behind me was up against my back. But it was worth it. We all went nuts when AVA came out. They even played My First Punk song too. Oh and I dropped my camera when we were helping a crowd surfer over....luckily I grabbed it really quick before it got trampled. I got many pictures of Tom Delonge haha. Some girl passed out, we found a guys wallet, and now I've completed part of a middle school dream of seeing Tom Delonge live in person. I still can't believe it....it's so surreal.

Then we headed over to see Anberlin. We stuck towards the back and sat down for their last few songs. I was hot by this time and feeling kinda yuck. So we headed back to the ampitheater for awhile. I don't even know who was playing when we got in there I just wanted to drink my water and eat some crackers. But after that band got offstage, Ludo came on. I was happy I got to see them, I didn't know if we were going to but we definatley did. Yay for Ludo! After sitting through a couple of songs of the band after then we headed back out into the sun. We sat in the shade while Against Me! was on.

Then we got up to see Relient K. They played great, and I loved the song about The Office. They played Be My Escape, Sadie Hawkins, Who I Am Hates Who I've Been and some others. It started randomly sprinkling during their set, although it was still pretty sunny...weird. There were a lot of kids who were probably a few years younger than me with their parents. To me...that would suck because my parents wouldn't have let me get close at all. I told my parents how close I got for AVA and they flipped, you could've gotten trampled...blah blah blah.

At 7:40 we headed over to see Motion City Soundtrack....oh yes. They played This is For Real, Your Favorite Accident, oh man my brain is failing me right now. But we definatley sang the birthday song to Josh(in the band).

After Motion City Soundtrack we rushed over to see Story of the Year, we caught most of their set except for the first couple of songs. I was glad that they played stuff off of Page Avenue because I really haven't been able to get into any of their newer stuff.

Then we headed out to the parking lot and Josh drank cooler water he was so thirsty haha. We definately rocked out to music the whole way home. Mostly classic rock, Queen, Aerosmith, AC/DC ect. I dunno why I was just in that kind of mood I guess. We stopped in Gas City for gas. Yeah it's ironic I know ha. Then we got to my house just before 11.

Josh is going to get Herpes from drinking out of random people's abandoned water bottles. We are both sunburnt. 2nd time this year we've gotten sunburnt together. My shoulder is kinda tweaked and sore right now, I'm hungry because the only things I ate yesterday were an english muffin, a package of cheese crackers, and a rice krispie treat. But overall we had an amazing time and agreed that we should definately do it again. Josh is getting the pictures developed and will put em' up on Facebook when he gets a chance...when he does, well....I'll steal em' out of his album and post em' or a link to em' on photobucket or something. I think this trip was even better than the Cedar Point trip. Seriously amazing!
